I’m Lauren Bates – a communications consultant, trustee and passionate advocate for ethical products and services. For more than 20 years I’ve  helped to define and tell the stories of charities and responsible companies. I specialise in creative communications, CSR and PR campaigns that inform, empower and engage your audiences.

And I’m also the proud owner of Frock & Stole Vintage, the first online vintage dress boutique anywhere in the world to be certified ‘fur free’ by the BornFree USA Fur Free Retailer Program – but that’s a whole other story!

Communications campaigns for responsible business and charity

I have managed successful traditional and digital comms campaigns for non-profits, and for companies that want to develop partnerships with charities and the community; I’ve also advised some of the UK’s leading beauty retailers on CSR and ethical policy development.

My clients say they value my creativity, passion and honesty, and I only work with people who share my vision about making a difference in the world by designing and delivering sustainable products and services. They also know that I deliver – whether I am managing a one-off project or event, or developing a long-term communications strategy.

For more information about how I can support your communications work, please take a look at the Communications Advice section.

Finding great comms talent

As a former account director and consultant to three of the leading charity recruitment consultancies, I managed numerous high-profile talent-search campaigns in addition to conducting confidential head-hunting research. I helped some of the UK’s leading charities (including The RSPCA, Action for Children, Anya17 and The British Lung Foundation) to find great communications and digital talent for their in-house teams.

The Your Career section is the place to go if you need expert additional support to find digital and comms talent for your team, or some tips on personal branding to develop your career.

“I have known Lauren for several years. She is not only really easy to work with, simply because she is a very genuine and reliable person, but she also has a deep understanding of marketing and fundraising in the not for profit sector and developing recruitment strategies for charities and candidates alike.” Catherine Cottrell – Former Group Head of Fundraising, RSPCA
