Hello
I’m Lauren Bates and for 15 years I’ve been helping individuals, charities and ethical business to stand out from the crowd. A passionate advocate for the voluntary sector, I specialise in charity PR, comms and recruitment in Hertfordshire and London.
I design and deliver innovative communications campaigns that raise awareness, generate income, and transform people’s views. I am also a successful charity head-hunter and have managed communications and fundraising recruitment campaigns for some of the UK’s leading charities.
Theodore Roosevelt once said “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” I couldn’t agree more.
Charity comms – freelance and in-house
I manage successful traditional and digital comms campaigns for non-profits and companies that want to develop partnerships with charities; and I’ve also advised some of the UK’s leading retailers on CSR and ethical policy development. I once drove coast to coast in the US with my best friend and her dog – but that’s a whole other story!
My charity, corporate and individual clients say they value my creativity, passion and honesty, and I only work with people who share my vision about making a difference in the world. They also know that I deliver – whether I am managing a one-off project or event, or developing a long-term communications strategy.
For more information about how I can support your communications work, please take a look at the Communications Advice section.
Charity recruitment & career development
As a charity head-hunter, I’ve managed numerous advertised recruitment campaigns in addition to conducting confidential head-hunting research.
The Your Career section is the place to go if you need to kick-start your career, or you’re looking for support with your latest recruitment project.
My blog
My blog section is all about charity, particularly careers, communications and campaigns. And look out for guest posts and interviews with some fascinating people doing great things.
Achievements I’m proud of:
- Nominated for ‘Mentoring Works Awards’ 2010
- Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts
- Trustee, Animal Insight
- Former Trustee for the Dacorum Volunteer Bureau and Chair, Millennium Volunteer Programme
Please take a look around and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need support with your communications, career development or recruitment.
“I have known Lauren for several years. She is not only really easy to work with, simply because she is a very genuine and reliable person, but she also has a deep understanding of marketing and fundraising in the not for profit sector and developing recruitment strategies for charities and candidates alike.” Catherine Cottrell – Group Head of Fundraising, RSPCA
